Recommended for 1 CPE in Personal Development at the basic level.

The program is suitable at the basic level for individuals who have routine interactions with others that could potentially lead to contentious conversations. OK ETHICS makes no guarantees as it is up to the individual practitioner to determine relevance to their specific area of practice.

About the Program:

According to the US DOL Office of Disability Employment Policy, nearly 1 in 5 employees — 20% — may suffer mental health illness each year. Yet, millions of Americans are delaying or avoiding to seek treatment due to the stigma around mental health. This poses major problems for retention, productivity, and legal risk when the battle for talent is at historic levels. As one of the guiding principles of OK Ethics’ is inspiring trust, organizations have the ethical responsibility to lead with integrity and be at the leading edge in breaking the barriers of the mental health stigma. As people spend the majority of their lives at their work, corporations have a tremendous ability to influence the mental health of their employees. This program will provide organizations important information in how to provide a holistic health care approach as they navigate a volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous environment.

Key Takeaways:

1. Discuss the current state of mental health in corporate organizations and its implications on the workforce as a whole.

2. How to create a workplace culture of inclusivity and sensitivity that de-stigmatizes mental health struggles.

3. The role of leadership in displaying courage andinspiring trust in employees to seek mental health treatment

4. Reviewing the fundamental basics of mental health care and how organizations can leverage their training strategies and employee benefits as a tool for collaboration and service to their people.
